Le Ghiaie

Le Ghiaie è una spiaggia molto conosciuta dell’Isola d’Elba che si trova limitrofe al centro storico di Portoferraio. Si raggiunge facilmente dal porto di Portoferraio,appena sbarcati portarvi nella parte finale a destra del porto da dove tramite una strada alberata che troverete sulla vostra sinistra riuscirete ad arrivare in poco tempo a destinazione. La carenza di parcheggi in zona sconsiglia l’uso proprio e invita a usare direttamente i mezzi pubblici. Arrivati sulla spiaggia vi troverete davanti a 370 metri di ciottoli bianchi tutti levigati dal lavoro del mare, questi ciottoli regalano una trasparenza del mare da far invidia alle zone caraibiche. Le sue acque, specialmente nelle giornate che soffia lo scirocco, insieme alla vicinanza al mare antistante dello Scoglietto, zona di tutela biologica, la rendono una meta ideale per gli amanti dello snorkeling. Anche ai meno esperti e ai bambini, con l’ uso di una semplice maschera, sarà possibile ammirare la presenza di tanti pesci già a pochi metri dalla riva. Una leggenda che aleggia su questa spiaggia narra che le macchie bene evidenti sui ciottoli bianchi della spiaggia sono dovute allle gocce di sudore degli Argonauti. Alle Ghiaie sono presenti diversi servizi dallo stabilimento balneare,al noleggio imbarcazioni e pedalò direttamente sulla spiaggia, fino a tutte le attività commerciali quali bar,ristoranti etc presenti sul vicino viale. Alle spalle della spiaggia c’è un grosso giardino pubblico ombreggiato dove sono presenti servizi igenici e docce a pagamento e un area giochi con panchine, ottimo rifugio dalla spiaggia per le ore più calde della giornata.

Le Ghiaie is a very popular beach on Elba Island, located near the historic center of Portoferraio. Behind the beach there is a large shaded public garden where there are yes services and pay-per-view showers and a playground with benches, a great haven from the beach for the hottest hours of the day.
