Fornacelle

Fornacelle è il nome di una piccola baia nel Comune di Rio Marina a poche centinaia di metri dal Cavo. Conosciuta anche come Cala del Telegrafo, per la sua storia che la accosta a miniere di ferro che in passato erano attive li in zona, vanta ancora sulla parte settentrionale ella spiaggia resti di forni,  testimonianze del processo della lavorazione del ferro che veniva li svolto.Una lunga lecceta che si spinge fino sull’ arenile fa di questi cento e più metri di spiaggia un incantevole baia naturale;formata di sabbia ghiaia e ciottoli dalle tonalità scure è in grado di regalare nelle giornate di sole dei riflessi e degli effetti luccicanti, effetti dovuti alla presenza sia nella spiaggia sia nei fondali,di resti di minerali ferrosi tra i quali l’ematite. Fornacelle oltre ad essere una spiaggia a misura di famiglie grazie ai suoi fondali bassi che degradano dolcemente, è anche meta ideale per gli amanti dello snorkeling che in questi fondali trasparenti possono scoprire tutte le bellezze sotto marina di questa parte di costa. Sulla spiaggia sono presenti servizi quali bar,ristorante e noleggio lettini e ombrelloni; a Fornacelle si arriva percorrendo la strada provinciale Cavo-Rio Marina fino a trovare l’indicazione per la cala, dove dopo aver percorso una breve stradina arriverete in un parcheggio a ridosso della spiaggia. Per chi lo desidera nel periodo estivo può tener fermo il proprio mezzo e usare il servizio Marebus.

Fornacelle

Fornacelle is the name of a small bay in the Commune of Rio Marina just a few hundred meters from the Cable. Also known as Cala del Telegrafo, due to its history of iron mines that used to be in the area in the past, it still boasts the remains of furnaces in the north, and witnesses to the process of iron processing that was carried out. On the beach there are services such as bar, restaurant and rental of sun loungers and parasols; in Fornacelle, you reach the provincial road Cavo-Rio Marina until you find the sign for the cave, where after a short downhill you will arrive in a car park close to the beach.
