Direttore

Direttore è una spiaggia del Comune di Rio Marina che prende il nome da una vicina villa che domina dall’alto il golfo,un tempo residenza del direttore delle vecchie miniere dell’ Isola d’ Elba. Non più lunga di 85 metri è una spiaggia di sabbia di colore scuro e lucente, questo ultimo effetto è dal sole che fa brillare le grosse  quantità di minerali ferrosi presenti quali pirite e ematite. L’aspetto della spiaggia del Direttore è di un angolo dell’elba selvaggio con coste basse e alte e un piccolo boschetto di lecci che si trova alle spalle della spiaggia, meta ideale nelle ore calde dei bagnanti. Alla spiaggia del Direttore si arriva o via mare o altrimenti via terra lasciando il proprio mezzo al parcheggio della vicina Cala Seregola e proseguendo per un sentiero a piedi. I venti migliori per frequentare questa spiaggia sono quelli del Ponente e Libeccio.

Direttore

Direttore is a beach in the municipality of Rio Marina that takes its name from a nearby villa overlooking the gulf, formerly the residence of the director of the old mines of the Elbe Island. No longer than 85 meters is a sandy beach of dark and shining color, this last effect is from the sun that shines the large amounts of iron ore present such as pyrite and hematite. The Director’s beach looks like a corner of wild elbe with low and tall shores and a small holm oak grove behind the beach, an ideal destination for hot bathers. At the Director’s Beach you arrive either by sea or else by land leaving your own car at the nearby Cala Seregola car park and continuing on a footpath. The best winds to visit this beach are those of the Ponente and Libeccio.
